The IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB) has welcomed the
IAAF's decision to allow South Africa's world 800m champion
Caster Semenya to return to the international athletics circuit
after her 11-month exile from competitive racing.
"While we strongly disapprove of the manner in
which the IAAF handled the Semenya case we are pleased that one
of the biggest controversies ever to engulf the sport has
finally been resolved," said Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi, the IFP Youth
Brigade Chairperson.
Lebenya-Ntanzi said that the IFPYB was proud
of the dignified manner in which Semenya handled the matter.
"She has emerged from this set-back as an
inspiration not only to women in general, but for anyone with a
dream to become a successful sports star," said Pat Lebenya-Ntanzi, the IFP Youth Brigade
Chairperson.
In conclusion Lebenya-Ntanzi said: "Semenya
epitomizes South Africa's fighting spirit and we are confident
that this fighting spirit will still compel her to great heights
in the international athletics arena. We wish her well in future
competitions and we hope that she may have a long and very
successful athletics career."
