The Inkatha Freedom Party in the City of
Johannesburg takes strong exception to a false statement issued
by a journalist from Isolezwe newspaper on 30 June 2010.
The statement, that the City of Johannesburg
District backed IFP National Chairperson, Mrs VZ
kaMagwaza-Msibi, for the position of IFP President, is wholly
untrue.
"This is cheap politicking and political
point-scoring. It is worse than anything we have seen before in
the City of Johannesburg District. We distance ourselves from
these allegations in the strongest terms," said IFP Secretary
for the City of Johannesburg District, Mr Herman Thusi.
The District has taken this opportunity to
re-affirm its commitment to the Party and to His Excellency
Prince MG Buthelezi, President of the IFP. "Prince Buthelezi has
always been our President. He is our President today. And we
wish to see him President beyond the IFP's Annual General
Conference," Mr Thusi said.
