Among the issues discussed by the eThekwini IFP District Executive Committee meeting on Tuesday (09/02/2010) was the recent march by hostel-dwellers through which they highlighted the poor conditions under which they are living as well as their opposition to the rent hike.  

The DEC therefore resolved that at 10h00 on Monday, 15 February 2010, they will begin a visit to the hostels within eThekwini with the intention to see first-hand the conditions under which our people are living there.

The visit will begin at 10h00 with the first visit being to the SJ Smith Hostel (Wemmer).  

The IFP DEC therefore invites the media to accompany them on the said visit - at 10h00 on Monday (15/02) - so that, as the eyes of the public, they will also witness first-hand the conditions in the hostels.
