The Durban High Court this morning dismissed a
case brought against the IFP's leadership by Sibusiso Brian
Mbusi Lukhele and others, on the grounds that the case had no
merit.
The case was dismissed with cost.
"We are satisfied with the outcome of the
court case today. The application was absurd, as we had no
intention of postponing the Conference or making it
non-elective. We have been vindicated by the Court's ruling that
the case had no substance or merit," said Albert Mncwango, the
IFP's National Organiser.
Mcnwango said that the IFP is bound by its
Constitution and that it would not deviate from these
principles.
"We are a party that is guided by the will of
the people, which is exercised through our structures, and we
will not be intimidated by a group of disgruntled renegades
driven by their own selfish, individual agendas,"
concluded Mncwango.
