The Inkatha
Freedom Party would like to congratulate Khotso Mokoena for
winning South Africa's first medal at the Beijing Olympic Games,
said Mr Bonginkosi Dhlamini MP, IFP Sports and Recreation
Spokesperson, today.
Mr Dhlamini
commented: "The IFP would like to congratulate Khotso on a
sterling performance, which saw him clinch a second place finish
in the men's long jump yesterday. By winning South Africa's
first medal at the Games he has not only broken South African's
medal drought, but he has made all South Africans extremely
proud!
"The IFP
hopes that this will not be South Africa's final medal count,
and we hope that Khotso's silver medal will inspire Team South
Africa to win more medals before the Games draw to a close at
the end of the week.
"In
particular we would like to wish Natalie du Toit the best of
luck for the 10km marathon swim on Wednesday morning. We hope
that she will be able to achieve her dream of making it onto the
Olympics podium."
In
conclusion Mr Dhlamini said: "Go for gold Team South Africa, we
know you can do it!"
