The Inkatha Freedom Party has called on
men to show moral leadership in their families and the society.
The party said this in a statement issued today in support of
the International Men's Day, which is reportedly recognised for
the first time in South Africa. Dr Bonginkosi Buthelezi, IFP MPL
and Leader of Opposition said:
"On this International Men's Day, the
IFP wishes to salute all men of KwaZulu-Natal, especially those
who have toiled ceaselessly for their families and their loved
ones. We also urge all men to continue being shining lights by
showing moral leadership in society; because more than ever
before, society calls on men to provide leadership and ensure
the eradication of all forms of abuse which plague our Province.
"Lastly we want to call on the
government to actively support programs meant to highlight the
importance of the International Men's Day so as to recognise men
of integrity who give all for their families and country."
