Today the IFP-aligned South African
Democratic Students' Movement (SADESMO) reacted to statements by
the ANCYL in KwaZulu Natal labelling IFP President as a
"dictator".
SADESMO National Spokesperson, Mkhuleko
Hlengwa, said: "Bheki Mtolo has obviously taken the Malema
route, and rides now on the crest of idiotic, reckless and
irresponsible politics. To hurl insults at the IFP President
seems to be the only way for him to make headlines and make a
name for himself, because his political record on its own is not
sufficient."
"We are sick and tired of ill bred ANC
brats and arrogant idiots who think that they are at liberty to
determine the political discourse of the IFP through insults and
misguided rhetoric," Hlengwa said.
These comments by the ANCYL come after
the IFP National Council decided to postpone the AGC. Hlengwa
added that "our understanding of the postponement of the
Conference is that the climate and environment is not conducive,
and that as responsible democrats we cannot put the lives of our
fellow comrades at risk. Sound political reason, which Mtolo
lacks, dictates that safety and security are non-negotiable
prerequisites for a smooth running of any conference. Moreover,
the ANCYL's failure to understand this basic democratic notion
is no surprise when one looks back on their Mangaung
Conference."
"Only a dictator would allow for a
Conference to sit in the midst of violence, and Prince
Mangosuthu Buthelezi is not a dictator, for if he was then we
would be going to conference this weekend. So Mtolo should do us
all a favour and shut up if he has nothing worthwhile to say. If
the ANC fails to rein him in then we will do it for them and he
will not enjoy it. We have long surpassed the stage where we
turn a blind eye to ANCYL nonsense; we do not want to play the
man but if we have to then we will do so without fear or
compromise. Mtolo had better damn well move out of our way or
else we will knock him down and his sorry and pitiful ANCYL,".
Hlengwa added "As the Youth of the IFP we know how to
champion our course, and if we need any help we certainly will
not stoop to the lowly filth of Mtolo and the ANCYL. We will
retaliate, and the day we do will be a very dark one for Mtolo.
This is the first and last warning; and beyond that we will not
be responsible for our actions," said Hlengwa.
In conclusion Hlengwa said: "Shenge is
our man, a man of action and nothing will stand in our way to
defending him and the IFP from any form of political thuggery,
political vomit or immature name calling.
His legacy is our launch pad into the
future. We are proud to call Prince Mangosuthu, a true and
genuine democrat, our leader, comrade and companion in the long
journey to our Party's and South Africa's democratic
prosperity."
