Following a KwaZulu Natal Provincial
Disciplinary hearing in Durban yesterday, the provincial
leadership of the IFP resolved to dismiss two of its Women's
Brigade members.
The two members of the IFP, Ms Bongekile
Gwala and Ms Angel Mthembu, brought the party into disrepute
when they made false statements to the media during a meeting at
the Dalton Hostel in eThekwini on the 09th of August 2010.
Dr BT Buthelezi MPL, the KZN Provincial
Secretary said today: "Apart from dragging the IFP's name
through the mud in the media, the two women also gave themselves
bogus titles, alleging that they were IFP Women's Brigade
leaders, which were false and in contravention of the IFP's
Constitution.
The enquiry concluded that their
transgressions were of such a serious nature that it warranted
their dismal with expulsion from the party with immediate
effect," said Dr BT Buthelezi MPL, the IFP's KZN Provincial
Secretary.
