The IFP sympathises with all community members who have been affected by the floods in South Coast of KwaZulu Natal. We further note that floods are of periodical occurrence in many parts of our country.

It calls on both the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry as well as the Department of Agriculture and Land Affairs to seriously consider the IFP's idea of constructing more dams and catchments across rivers and streams to conserve water and to curb flooding. This will also help create more job opportunities.
