ANC Councillors Bring Jozini Municipality To A Standstill

The IFP councillors in Jozini Municipality have accused the ANC councillors of disrupting a Council meeting.

“The municipality is in a stalemate since this morning. ANC Councillors asked for a 10-minute adjournment at 11h30 and up to now are still locked in a caucus.

Opposition parties have since been waiting in the Chamber since the morning.

Today we were supposed to approve the budget but nothing has happened due to the fact that the ANC councillors decided to move out and convene their own meeting,” said IFP EXCO member in Jozini Municipality, Mr John Siyaya.

“We are very perturbed by this behaviour by the ANC councillors. This is a manifestation of the political crisis. The people of Jozini should know that their enemy is not the IFP, but that their enemy is the arrogant, lying and misleading ANC government which makes commitments that they cannot keep,” concluded Mr Siyaya.
