The IFP has accused the ANC of having hired busses to carry supporters from Durban this afternoon to Nquthu to participate in tomorrow’s by-elections. In a statement issued a few minutes ago, IFP Deputy National Spokesperson Joshua Mazibuko said:
“It has come to our attention that the ANC has hired 10 busses which will leave Durban this afternoon carrying their supporters to Nquthu. According to our sources, these ANC supporters are being bussed to Nquthu to bolster ANC support by voting in tomorrow’s by-elections.
“While we are dismayed, we are not surprised for we have always known that the ANC is so desperate that they could even stoop to the lowest levels in order to win Nquthu Municipality so that they would gain an upper-hand at Mzinyathi District Municipality.
“We wish to urge the IEC, other political parties and the people of Nquthu to be very vigilant and do their best to thwart these ANC shenanigans.”
