Angie Motshekga Must Shut Up About Virginity Testing

The IFPWB has challenged the ANCWL president, Angie Motshekga to provide proof if any of her female relatives who had undergone virginity testing had been abused in that process, or else she must shut up and stop her insane utterances.

“Angie Motshekga’s comments that virginity testing must be abolished shows that she is still suffering from some form of mental oppression. Her comments sound worse than those of the oppressive apartheid government. If she is against virginity testing she must go and live in another country as it seems that during her years in exile she has lost touch with being an African. She has proven that this country is not ready for a female president and the ANCWL does not have capable leaders,” said IFP Women’s Brigade National Chairperson, Mrs Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa.

“Angie must provide us with evidence that she knows of a female family member who underwent virginity testing and was abused. In the absence of such evidence she must close her mouth and stay away from virginity testing because she knows nothing about it. She must stop being negatively obsessed with our culture,” continued Madlopha-Mthethwa.

“When we voted black people into our government, we never thought for a moment that they would do an about turn and dictate to us as to how we should raise our children. They have insulted our King, maidens, parents and the Zulu nation.

“There are changes and developments in life, but that does not mean people have to change their culture,” concluded Madlopha-Mthethwa.

The IFPWB calls on the ANCWL to holding workshops to inform its members on ways of dealing with women’s unemployment and also helping young women who are sitting at home after passing matric, to continue with education to better themselves.
