Growth in Political Maturity in Mtubatuba Municipality

IFP: Congratulations to the people of Mtubatuba Municipality in ward 6 for the growth in their political maturity

The IFP is humbled and impressed by the level of political maturity of the people of South Africa, especially Mtubatuba in ward 6 when they gave the ward to the IFP. After the 08th of May general elections, ward 6 has been the scene of contest between the IFP and ANC for the bi-elections held on the 12th of June 2019.

Firstly, all Parties that contested the ward are commended for tolerance and allowing people to make their choices. Despite the floods of food parcels, bicycles to Nkodibe and Nkombose High Schools in the ward, sports equipment and money given to people to literally buy the vote, in the ballot box people chose the IFP. The people of our Country need to be commended that they demonstrate maturity even in the midst of being confronted with what they need the most, they will make a right choice.

The people of South Africa now know that the food parcels, sports equipment, money and bicycles that come on the eve of the voting day are neither genuine nor sustainable and none will follow after the voting day.

The IFP calls upon all Government Departments in KZN to stop using the Government resources as it happened in ward 6 at Mtubatuba recently. True service delivery need not be done on the eve of elections because this is equal to bribery and corruption.

The IFP calls upon the Premier of KZN and his cabinet to desist from this behaviour and that the Premier must walk the talk as he promised the clean government in KZN. This is the time for the Premier of KZN to demonstrate that he is the man of his words.
