Hawks Must Also Prioritise Senzo Meyiwa’s Murder Case

The IFP demands that the National Hawks Head Mthandazo Ntlemeza must also prioritise Senzo Meyiwa’s murder case and those of IFP supporters who were killed.

“If Ntlemeza and his team are able to launch an urgent manhunt for those behind the murder of a member of the presidential protection unit in Eshowe then they must also do the same in Senzo Meyiwa’s case and for our supporters who were killed in KwaMashu and Inanda. It has been a year now since Senzo Meyiwa was killed but police are still failing to arrest his killers. We have lost many of our supporters like Fuhluza Khumalo but there has been no word from the police till today,” said IFP National Chairperson, Mr Blessed Gwala.

“The Hawks must not prioritise this murder case just because it involves the member of the presidential protection unit. By doing so Ntlemeza will label himself as a puppet who only gives special treatment to his bosses. The loss of life must be treated equally before the law. There must be no impression that some peoples’ lives are more important than others just because of the positions they occupy in government or due to their political affiliation,” continued Mr Gwala.

“We want to see the Hawks fast tracking the investigations into the murder case of Senzo Meyiwa and those of our supporters once and for all. How can the families of the deceased find closure if the justice system of this country is failing them? They want to know who killed their loved ones,” concluded Mr Gwala.
