On behalf of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), IFP President and Leader of the Official Opposition in KwaZulu-Natal, President Velenkosini Hlabisa, calls on all communities currently being battered by the torrential rains in KZN to exercise extreme caution, and remain vigilant in the face of possible flooding.
As many will know, the rain is back in full force in certain parts of KZN, with Durban in particular, bearing the brutal brunt.
As we stand together to face these storms, we would like to remind our communities that we are stronger together, and call on neighbours to support each other, and help where they can. We would further like to encourage all first responders to be readily available to assist. As ever, we recognise and thank them for their lifesaving service and dedication to the people of KZN.
It seems that the rains are not abating. At this time, our thoughts and prayers are particularly with those who were attempting to pick up the pieces following the previous round of devastating floods, and who are now facing possible catastrophe yet again.
As the IFP, we would like to assure communities across KZN that as servants of the people, our leadership and members will be on the ground to offer practical support, wherever possible in the days to come.
