IFP condemns violence at Nkodibe High School

By Hon. X Ngwezi MP
IFP Spokesperson on Education

The IFP strongly condemns the violent acts of two learners who fought and stabbed each other at Nkodibe High School, Mtubatuba, KwaZulu- Natal, today.

The IFP calls on the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Education Department to act swiftly in investigating the allegations and take action against the learners which have now disrupted teaching and learning at Nkodibe High School.

We cannot allow our schools to become hostile locations, especially this close to the mid-year exams.

Our young people must be able to freely express themselves in a safe learning environment.

I will visit Nkodibe High School next week to ascertain further detail on this matter and to conduct an oversight visit to ensure the school meets the required standards ahead of the mid-year exam cycle and to offer political support to the leadership of the high school.
