IFP Extends Condolences on the Passing of Two COVID-19 Patients

The news of the tragic passing on of two Covid-19 patients in the Western Cape this morning was met with deep sadness and regret.

These deaths signal the rude awakening of the grave reality of Covid-19. It is a moment in which our collective effort in preventing the further spread of this virus must be taken serious by all South Africans.

We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones and friends of the deceased.

We thank the health care workers who are on the frontline serving patients at our various health care facilities.

If we are to reach our common national goal in fighting, preventing and strengthening our response to the spread of covid-19, extraordinary measures must be taken by all to safeguard ourselves.

The IFP reiterates our call on all South Africans to remain indoors and to limit contact with others as far as possible. The Lockdown must be respected and all rules upheld if we are to win the war against Covid-19.
