IFP extends heartfelt condolences on passing of veteran journo Rowena Baird

Press Statement
Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP

The IFP has learnt with shock and dismay about the passing on of veteran SA FM radio personality, Rowena Baird, after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.

Rowena Baird started her broadcasting career in the mid-1980s – she was a voice of reason for many as she held informative talks on the public broadcaster’s radio platform. She was a true inspiration to many, especially to all South Africans battling with cancer.

We wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, friends and the millions of South African’s who woke up to listen in on her talk show. We have lost yet another giant in the media industry this year.

May her Soul Rest in eternal peace. Lala ngoxolo.
