IFP Gauteng Congratulates Mrs Phindile Baleni on her appointment as DG in The Presidency

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng wishes to express its congratulations to Mrs Phindile Baleni on her new appointment as the Director-General (DG) in The Presidency and Secretary of Cabinet.

Mrs Baleni has been pivotal in her astute stewardship of the Gauteng Government’s administration, where she served as DG in the Office of the Premier of Gauteng since March 2015. She has maintained an impeccable record as an ethical and competent public servant, whose experience has contributed towards improving the level of professionalism and service capacity within the provincial government.

The IFP extends its gratitude to Mrs Baleni for her diligent service to the people of Gauteng. We also wish her well as she ascends to assume even greater responsibilities in her role as the first-ever female DG in The Presidency.

We also note that the departure of Mrs Baleni leaves a vacancy in the Office of the Premier. We therefore urge the Honourable Premier not to delay the process of appointing an equally consummate professional to fill the vacant position of DG. This role is at the nerve-centre of the Province and as such, it should not be left open for too long.
