IFP Grateful For The Positive Role Played By The Media

The Inkatha Freedom Party in KwaZulu-Natal is grateful to the powerful role that the media played in assisting opposition parties in the province to get the dates for the official opening of the KZN Legislature.

“It was only yesterday that we complained via the media that we have not been informed of the date when the KZN Legislature will officially open. After the media went public with this, we now have been given the calendar of events. This is a clear indication that the Office of the Speaker in the KZN Legislature was aware of these dates but had not deemed it fit to inform us as Members of the Legislature. These are the kind of games that the ruling party plays in its effort to keep opposition parties in the dark about such important matters.

We want to thank the media for the role that it plays in being vigilant and ensuring accountability from government. We always believe that a strong media presence is vital in upholding the principles of democracy as enshrined in the Constitution of South Africa,” said IFP Leader in the KZN Legislature, Hon Blessed Gwala MPL
