IFP KZN Legislature congratulates Matric Class of 2020

The IFP in the KZN Legislature congratulates the Matric Class of 2020. These learners showed true tenacity and heroism – despite being confronted by unprecedented and difficult conditions – and emerged victorious. Their persistent determination to achieve good results against the Covid-19 pandemic odds, which introduced a new normal, made us proud as a province.

Again, congratulations to the 2020 Matric Class of KZN and South Africa as a whole: we wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the teachers who passionately put their lives at risk in providing their best efforts to ensure good results from learners during such trying times.

We also wish to salute those teachers who lost their lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and could not witness the recently released results of their hard work.

We urge the Matric Class of 2021 to learn from the Matric Class of 2020, to weather the storm of Covid-19, and to emerge victorious at the end of the year.

We call upon the Department of Education in KwaZulu-Natal to ensure better and more timeous provision of the necessary school resources. These include PPE, ablution facilities, water, stationery, books, learning materials, sanitisers and other resources required by our schools, especially those in rural areas. This will help teachers and learners to proceed smoothly with productive learning during the challenging academic year ahead.
