IFP MPL to Inspect Faulty eThekwini Pump Station

For the past two years, Athlone Park in Amanzimtoti, South of Durban, has been plagued by a faulty water treatment pump station, which has not been operating, prompting the local community to develop their own sewage pit.

Due to the inability to carry the waste water treatment load, foul-smelling, raw sewage is spilling over onto a golf course, sanctuary and into the Isipingo River, which flows into Isipingo Beach.

Following this unresolved challenge which has become a health hazard to the community, IFP KZN Legislature Member, Hon. Nessa Branpahash, will visit the area to inspect the  pump station and demand answers from the eThekwini Municipality.

Members of the media are invited to cover this site inspection, scheduled as follows:

Assembly Point: KFC Prospection, Isipingo
Date: 7 Dec 2022
Time: 10am
