IFP Nkandla By-Election Victory – ANC Bites the Dust

By MB Gwala MPL
IFP National Chairperson

The IFP’s success in yesterday’s By-election in Nkandla is testament to the fact that the IFP is growing and will continue to deliver impeccable services to residents in Ward 7.

We congratulate our structures for a successful campaign and wish the incumbent Ward Councillor Mr Nkosinathi Skhumbuzo Khumalo all the best in delivering on our promise of integrity and responsiveness in local government.

Despite the ANC contesting this By-election with their top brass – disgraced former President Jacob Zuma who resides in Nkandla and KZN Premier Willies Mchunu, the IFP gave the ANC a run for their money.

We have opened a case with SAPS (Case Number: 114/05/2018) as the ANC blatantly continues to misuse state resources for party-political purposes in a desperate attempt to win elections. This is in contravention of the Electoral Act.

The people of Nkandla have confirmed that they are happy with the service delivery under an IFP administration. We have retained this Ward since 2016 and will continue to deliver on our promise to residents.

I wish to extend my gratitude to His Excellency the IFP President for his role in ensuring that the IFP retain this ward. To all IFP volunteers and other leaders who contributed their efforts and support, the IFP thanks you!

This IFP will continue to increase its support across the country and we are geared towards growth in 2019.
