IFP PRESIDENT VF HLABISA TO VISIT UMDONI MUNICIPALITY

On Sunday 6 October 2019, the President of the IFP, Hon VF Hlabisa, who is also Leader of the Official Opposition in the KwaZulu Natal Legislature, will visit Ugu District Municipality as part of his nationwide tour to meet the people from village to village, township to township and city to city to hear their voices.

Weeks leading up to the 2019 general elections earlier in the year, the IFP in Ugu District Municipality visited an area called Khakhama under Inkosi Mqadi which forms part of Umdoni Municipality under the Ugu District.The residents listed a few challenges they were facing which included:

  • The lack of infrastructure development in the area;

  • Failure of the municipality to properly service the area because it is claimed that they are residing in privately owned land;

  • Slow pace of land reform by the relevant authorities;

  • Development activities that seem to be selective;

Following the call from the people, the Hon President of the IFP will be accompanied by members of the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Legislature and other Office bearers in the IFP in order to engage with the residents on these various issues.
