IFP Statement of Condolence on the Passing of Gauteng MPL, Ms Lindiwe Lasindwa

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng extends its sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of ANC Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL), the Honourable Lindiwe Lasindwa.

Honourable Lasindwa joined the Provincial Legislature in 2009, where she continuously served the people of Gauteng with diligence, passion, and dedication. At the time of her untimely passing, she was working as the Chairperson of the Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development Portfolio Committee in the GPL.

Her previous roles in the Legislature included serving as Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Gender, Youth and People with Disabilities (GEYODI); a Member of the Economic Development Committee, and a Member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA), among others.

Her charisma and passion for the defence and empowerment of women, youth and minority groups in society will always be remembered, and dearly missed.

The IFP extends its most profound sympathies to Honourable Lasindwa’s family, friends, and comrades in the ANC. Her loss is felt not only by members of her family and her political organisation, but by the citizens of Gauteng.

May her soul rest in eternal peace and the formidable legacy of her contributions to society endure beyond her passing.
