The IFP calls on all South Africans to strictly comply with the regulations as set out in the emergency protocol as we all try our utmost best to stop the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) and fundamentally disrupt the chain of transmission of the virus.
As we count down the hours until the official lockdown, the IFP urges all South Africans to unite in keeping each other in check to ensure that we all abide by government’s measures. Self-discipline is critical for us all to practice at this time.
Furthermore, we renew our calls for calm in all communities as a state of panic will not do us any good but will only cause harm and spread misinformation in our communities.
South Africans must keep abreast with the latest information on Covid-19 and stay informed during this time by ensuring that we carefully monitor updates from the various National and Provincial government Departments.
We urge South Africans to only share information on the spread of Covid-19 from official government sources and should desist from spreading fake news or images and videos which may be found to be in violation of the rights of the individuals or the regulations as set out during this lockdown.
The seriousness and the severity of this lockdown is each and every South Africans responsibility.
We must be reminded that there are millions who are further vulnerable because of HIV, malnutrition and heart diseases. The IFP, together with millions of South Africans extend our gratitude to all our service men and women who are on the frontline in tackling the spread of this virus.
