IFP Youth Brigade Wishes Teachers Well

Oct 5, 2016 | Press Releases

The Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade extends sincere appreciation to South African teachers as the world commemorates World Teachers’ Day today and congratulates them on their undying commitment to ensure a better future for the children of South Africa.

Teachers manage and continue to shape the future of the youth, even though they are working under the difficult circumstances. Very often teachers go beyond the call of duty because they are committed to providing the best possible education for our children.

We are cognisant of the fact that education is the key to a better future and that teachers have a vital role to play in imparting knowledge and grooming young minds. The future of South Africa is dependent on the quality of education that we provide today. The school environment is the nursery where young minds are provided with opportunities to develop to their full potentials. Our teachers are charged with the task of nurturing and holding the hands of our children as they blossom into young, responsible adults who can then make meaningful contributions to our country. We urge parents and communities to continue and improve their support for teachers in this regard.

As we commemorate this day in 2016 under the theme ‘Valuing Teachers, Improving their Status’, we call upon government to honour this theme by ensuring that it invests more resources in the field of education. Our teachers need to function in an environment that is safe, clean and fully resourced if they are to achieve the desired outcomes.

The IFPYB wishes all teachers every success in the 2016 academic year and beyond.
