IFPYB Reiterates Minister Bathabile Dlamini No Longer Fit For Purpose

The IFP Youth Brigade today reiterates its call that it made on 06 March 2017 that the “Minister of Social Development, Bathabile Dlamini, is no longer fit for purpose and no longer fit and proper for the portfolio she has been deployed to.”

The IFPYB repeats that the Minister must do the honourable thing and resign; failing that the President should fire her.

The Constitutional Court has struck a reasonable balance in its judgement which averts a national crisis and asserts the rule of law.

The Constitutional Court must be commended for a job well done.

As the Minister through a total disregard for accountability aided and abetted the SASSA crisis, 17 million social assistance beneficiaries faced unprecedented uncertainty because of a minister who thrives on bungling.

The Minister’s actions and arrogance in the face of crisis put social stability at risk.

Serious lessons must be learnt by all Executive Authorities about the importance of adhering to proper prescripts of contract management as per the dictates of the PFMA and other treasury regulations to avoid a similar repeat of the SASSA crisis elsewhere in the public sector.

The Minister slept on the job for 3 years, whilst receiving a salary.
That salary for all intents and purposes amounts to wasteful and fruitless expenditure.
