IFPYB: Statement On The Brutal Killing Of Comrade Sbuyiselo Dlamini (35)

Following visiting the Dlamini Family earlier this morning Saturday, 12 May 2018 the National Chairperson of the IFPYB, Mkhuleko Hlengwa MP, hereby issues this on behalf of the IFPYB.

The IFP Youth Brigade has received with shock and unimaginable pain the tragic news of the brutal killing of one of its own Comrade Sbuyiselo Dlamini (35), IFPYB Zululand District Chairperson.

Comrade Sbuyiselo was gunned down on Friday 11 May 2018 in Ulundi.

Our fallen Comrade diligently held numerous positions in the Party as follows:

  • Member of the National Council- the IFP’s highest decision making body in between conferences
  • Member of the National Campaign Committee (and also its Sub-Committee the Daily Management Committee which manages the operations of the IFP’s election campaign)
  • IFP Youth Brigade Chairperson of the Zululand District.

In 2016 he was elected as a PR Councillor and served on the Executive Committee (Exco) of the Zululand District Municipality where he Chaired the Planning Department Portfolio.

Comrade Sbuyiselo was a hard-working and dedicated member and leader of the IFPYB and was a humble servant of the people.

His untimely death has robbed us of a promising and budding leader who had a lot to offer through his leadership, insight and intellect.

In the course of debate Comrade Sbuyiselo, with sober thought of mind, always keenly concerned himself with matters of principle and was always seeking solutions and build bridges of comradeship.

Importantly, Comrade Dlamini never compromised on the youth agenda in all the bodies and structures he served in. He firmly believed in the advancement of young people.

It is the expectation of the IFPYB that law enforcement agencies will be thorough with their investigation and bring the killers of our Brother and those who sanctioned his murder to book. Our Comrade has been killed in cold blood and the only way we will find closure is when justice is done. We demand justice!

Comrade Sbuyiselo is survived by his Fiancée Nombuso Sikhakhane, his Mother Mrs MaGabela Dlamini, his Son Khethelo and 3 brothers and 1 sister.

The IFPYB conveys its deepest condolences to the Dlamini family.
