The IFP Youth Brigade has received the news of the killing of Ms Zolile Khumalo a student at Mangosuthu University of Technology with great shock, sadness and anger.
The continued abuse and murder of women and children in South Africa is cause for great concern and the full might of the law must be brought to bear to ensure that self-confessed criminal Thabani Mzolo is brought to book and that he receives the maximum sentence.
We wish to offer our fullest condolences to the bereaved family and friends and the student community of MUT.
The IFPYB, like any other political organisation has multitudes of members, supporters and followers, whose actions in their daily private lives may not necessarily be a reflection and embodiment of the values of the Party. This horrible deed is a case in point.
His actions are pure criminality and must be treated as such and ultimately punished as such.
Therefore, owing to the exceptional circumstances of the happenings associated with this tragedy and without negating the doctrine of “innocent until proven guilty”, the IFPYB membership of Thabani Mzolo is revoked with immediate effect, as his behaviour is inconsistent with the values, character, spirit and principles of the IFP and are at odds with the constitutional and democratic order of South Africa.
The IFPYB leadership will meet with the SADESMO MUT Branch Executive Committee tomorrow Friday, 04 May 2018 on this matter.
