On Tuesday, 9 August 2022, the Inkatha Freedom Party in Gauteng will host the IFP Women’s Brigade Rally to celebrate National Women’s Day at the Germiston Stadium. The event will be held under the theme: “Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, which is adopted from the UN Women’s roadmap for 2022.

The IFP President, Velenkosini Hlabisa, MPL and the IFP President Emeritus and Founder, Hon. Prince Mangosuthu, Buthelezi, MP, as well as the National Chairperson of the IFP Women’s Brigade, Hon. Princess Phumzile Buthelezi, MPL, will deliver keynote addresses on the day.

Through this Rally, the IFP Women’s Brigade aims to celebrate the extraordinary women leading in the various spheres of our society. The IFP Women’s Brigade will also be making the plea to sustain and intensify the struggle for freedom and justice in South Africa. This, at a time when our country is battling the scourge of gender-based violence, amongst other violations that continue to trample on the dignity of women and undermine their rights.

All members of the media are invited to attend.
