Media Alert IFPYB Youth Councillors’ Forum

On Sunday, 6 March 2022, the Inkatha Freedom Party Youth Brigade (IFPYB) will be inaugurating the Youth Councillors’ Forum 2021-26 in Amanzimtoti. IFP President and leader of the Official Opposition in the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, Hon. Velenkosini Hlabisa, MPL, will be delivering the keynote address.

This Forum was first inaugurated in 2016 and will be attended by young IFP leaders from across South Africa. IFPYB constituency, district and provincial leaders will also be in attendance. The event forms part of the IFP’s ongoing commitment to youth development, particularly in leadership structures, to ensure the Party’s long-term sustainability.

As a Party with a significant presence in local government, the IFP is further committed to developing capable young leaders that are fit for purpose. Our goal is to ensure that our young leaders are equipped to navigate party political leadership structures, as well as having an unwavering commitment to the IFP’s values of servant leadership, good governance, and integrity.

The IFP has a long tradition of deploying young leaders to key strategic leadership positions, to ensure a healthy generational mix. We have found that this is a win-win situation for the Party: the youth can learn from their elders, while injecting their special blend of youthful enthusiasm, as well as innovative ideas.

Date: Sunday, 6 March 2022
Venue: Amanzimtoti Civic Centre, Durban
Time: 11h00

Media are welcome to attend; there will be an opportunity for Q&A.
