Mlotshwa Is Using The NFP As A Place To Hide

In response to the recent comments by the NFP’s KwaZulu-Natal chairperson, Vikizitha Mlotshwa regarding the working relationship between the IFP, DA and EFF, the Inkatha Freedom Party reminds him that he cannot continue to use the NFP as a hide-out.

“We would like to remind Mlotshwa that while he was the IFP Mayor in Okhahlamba we found that he had taken bricks that were purchased to construct a crèche to build his own house. When the IFP summoned him to a disciplinary hearing, he refused to attend and then ran into hiding as a member of the NFP. Mlotshwa is not a loyal member of the NFP, he is in exile there and is merely using its structures as a hide-out after he ran away from the charges of corruption and abuse of state resources that the IFP brought against him. From that ANC-sponsored hide-out he behaves in a reckless manner and makes irresponsible statements. When the NFP did not qualify to participate in the recent local government elections, it was Mlotshwa who was threatening violence and saying he does not know how NFP members will respond as they are angry. He is behaving like a wolf in sheep’s clothing and not like a responsible leader”, said IFP National Chairman, Mr Blessed Gwala MPL.

“The co-operation arrangement that exists between the IFP, DA and the EFF was not formed by turncoats but agreed upon by leaders with integrity in order to ensure that municipal councils with good governance capabilities are put in place without delay in order to serve our people. There was no bribery involved, there was no money that changed hands. I wonder if Mlotshwa and the leadership of the NFP can say the same with regards to the formation of their party. Now that the NFP is crumbling around them, Mlotshwa seeks to point fingers at the IFP. Mlotshwa must know that like the elephant, the IFP has a very good memory and has not forgotten his corrupt activities. If his hands are clean then he should have attended the disciplinary hearing and cleared his name instead of going into hiding”, concluded Mr Gwala.
