Press Briefing by the IFP Official Opposition in the KZN Legislature

The KZN Department of Social Development procured 48 000 blankets at allegedly inflated prices suggesting a unit price of R600 per item at the end of March under the guise of Covid-19 emergency spending.

IFP MPL Les Govender filed a question to this effect and has probing the matter since it came to light; the KZN government buckled to the IFP pressure and then instituted an investigation.
The report of this investigation was released by the Premier yesterday pointing to a plethora of irregularities.

The IFP President and Leader of the Official Opposition Hon Velenkosini Hlabisa MPL will address a virtual press briefing today on the IFP action steps on this matter and report.

The IFP President will also be available for one on one interviews at the IFP Head Office, No 2 Durban Club Place, Durban.

The Press Briefing is scheduled as follows:

Date: Wednesday, 22 July 2020
Time: 12H30 to 13H30
Zoom platform.
