Ramaphosa’s once again missed an opportunity to put South Africa first

The expectation created and the actual final reshuffle announcement is totally underwhelming to say the very least. It was not a reshuffle but rather a recycle of ministers today.

The president announced nothing new and rather decided to maintain the status quo and try to balance a deeply divided ANC. President Ramaphosa has chosen the ANC over what is best for our country.

He has missed an opportunity to realign the economic cluster in cabinet. The economic cluster now remains as clumsy, ineffective and inefficient in addressing the economic woes of our country.

This was an opportunity to take South Africans into his confidence and to really walk his talk in terms of getting rid of dead weight in his cabinet and speaking truth to his earlier pronouncements on cutting the bloated Zuma-created cabinet.

It is disingenuous and disrespectful to all South Africans to blatantly disregard their pockets when taxes remain extremely high to fund the public wage bill.

This time around, South Africans will not be fooled into believing in a pipe dream called “the new dawn.”
