Subject:A LETTER OF COMPLAINT

Sir

A LETTER OF COMPLAINT

I hereby write in order to lodge a formal complaint to you for referring to Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi as Mr.

I refer to the letter to the editor which you published on 22 December 2011 written by Ms Liezl van der Merwe of the IFP titled “comparison an insult”.
You chose to amend the title which was written by Ms van der Merwe in her letter to you from Prince to Mr.

I wish to put it on record that Prince Buthelezi is a member of the Royal family. In terms of royalty it is an insult to refer to a Prince, King or Queen as Mr or Mrs.

I have never heard or read the English broadcast media in England referring to Prince Charles as Mr Charles.

Is this a way of undermining Prince Buthelezi or is it a sign that our royalty (African royalty) is of no consequence?
I plead with you to desist from this and also to inform your reporters to accord Prince Buthelezi the respect he deserves even if they may not like him.

We who honour and respect Prince Buthelezi take umbrage to this kind of reference to him.

Please accord Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi the respect that he deserves.

OTTO B KUNENE
ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY
