The IFP cautions political parties in the KZN Legislature, especially the DA to stop their political grandstanding and cheap politics by being obsessed with His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini by attacking him when he is performing his duties as a King.
"It’s unfair that the DA opted to attack the activities of His Majesty the King because nowhere in the world has the movement of any King has been challenged. All along the DA has proven to be two-faced, because whenever the King comes to the Legislature they pretend as if they support and accept him as the King of the province. But when the King has left they stab him in the back and portray him as being corrupt and a waste of tax payer’s money. We have noticed this for a long time," said IFP Leader in the KZN Legislature, Mr Blessed Gwala.
"Now it’s high time that this practice of attacking the King in the public domain must stop. We haven’t heard that the King spent the money on his overseas and national holiday trips with his Royal Family. The provincial government always maintains that the King is the face of the province as he plays a vital role in attracting investors and visitors from around the world," continued Mr Gwala.
"I have a high regard for the DA, especially Mr Francios Rodgers, but the picture he is painting is a direct attack that undermines the monarchy. He just creates an impression that the King is extravagant and not concerned about the plight of the poor." concluded Mr Gwala.
The IFP calls on all those in the Legislature who don’t understand the role of His Majesty the King in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal to approach us to receive education on the topic or they must shut up and not display their ignorance in public.
